A quick note about themes

Posted in: Uncategorized Add comments

A few days ago, I changed the theme on this site. I noticed that when I did, my stats package started reporting 0 visits a day (while I still got comments, so I knew it was inaccurate.)

For the time being, i’ve switched back to iTheme, until I can figure out the difference (might only take 5 minutes of troubleshooting, when I get a chance to do it.)

The only thing that this has any impact on is the embeded videos.  They will appear to be partially hidden until things are solved.

    Hi Warren,

I’m a fan of jQuery and of your implementation of Lightbox. I couldn’t find an email or contact form for you, so I’m picking a blog posting that seems close to what I had in mind to ask you about.

I’ve been working on a Wordpress plugin to integrate Lightbox into my blog, so I was intrigued by your new theme, winston, that seems to aleady be doing much of what I had in mind. If it is available from any of the theme repositories, it has thus far eluded me.

Is this one you wrote yourself or can you direct me to the source?

    Thanks!
    Tom

    Tom,

This theme was just a quick bit of html thrown together and was inspired by an older layout of http://hivelogic.com/ . It’s by no means a “complete” wordpress theme, and needs some tweaks if you plan on using any feature in wordpress beyond simple posting & comments. That being said, I’ll throw a copy online for you to download and tinker with. If you make any changes, please share them :)

Thanks! I’ll take a look and let you know what I end up doing with it. My goal right now is to off-load my photo gallery to Flickr, rather than managing them with Wordpress. I’ve been messing with Dan Coulter’s phpFlickr library and he recently released the Flickr Gallery plugin for Wordpress that is at the heart of what I’ve been working on. I’ve made a start at modifying his code to use your lightbox.
